Serving the Needs of our Adopted Marines, Sailors and their Families

In April 2005, the city of Huntington Beach, by proclamation of the City Council, adopted the 3rd Battalion / 1st Marines, stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. Our mission is to support these brave men and their equally brave families, in any way possible, especially in times of need. The Huntington Beach 3/1 Marines Foundation, with the help of local residents, businesses, schools, churches and organizations, coordinates programs and funds special activities and events, including:

  • Care packages to the field
  • Holiday projects
  • Welcome Home activities
  • Participation in HB Fourth of July parade
  • Response to emergency needs
  • Special activities for the wives and children when battalion is deployed
  • Assistance to injured Marines
  • Morale-boosting activities and projects
  • Annual 3/1 5K Run/Walk in Huntington Beach
  • Collection of “gently-worn” evening gowns for our Wives Boutique before Marine Corps Ball or Dine Out
  • Support of Change-of-Command and Deployment events

We invite you to join us as a member of the 3/1 Support Group or visit this site often to learn of upcoming events and activities. We salute the men and families of the 3rd Battalion / 1st Marines – The “Thundering Third!”- and hope that our efforts will demonstrate our gratitude and affection for those who pick up the tab on the price of freedom for us all.
